PECULIARITIES OF THE USE OF DIALECTAL VOCABULARY DENOTING HOUSEHOLD UTENSILS IN THE PROSE OF SORBON

Abstract

The article examines the specific features of the use of dialectal vocabulary denoting household utensils in Sorbon's prose. It is noted that, to date, in Tajik dialectology there are no works devoted to the peculiarities of the use of dialectal vocabulary in Sorbon's prose and their comparative analysis with other Tajik dialects. An analysis of Sorbon's prose and its comparison with the material of modern Tajik southern and northern dialects shows that some dialectal lexical elements have been preserved in the form recorded in the writer's works, some have undergone changes in pronunciation, and a third part has undergone semantic changes. This evolution does not occur simultaneously in all lexical elements; for the most part, words change form, while semantic changes occur relatively rarely. It is emphasized that, although dialectical elements of northern dialects prevail in Sorbon’s prose, in cases where the hero of the work is a representative of the southern, southeastern or central regions, the writer uses dialectal word variants from these regions. It is also noted that Sorbon selects from dialectal word variants those variants that are phonetically and semantically close to the literary language.
