The article examines the categories of voice and causativity, their interrelation, and core properties based on English and Tajik. Special attention is paid to typological differences in the ways causativity and voice are expressed: in English, causativity is predominantly realized through analytical constructions with the verbs make, have, let, and get, whereas in Tajik it is expressed morphologically through suffixes –on/yon (e.g., хобондан). The analysis demonstrates that causativity transforms the distribution of participant roles by introducing a new subject - the causer - thereby intersecting with the functions of voice. The study identifies regularities in the interaction of these categories, illustrating their impact on the syntactic structure of the sentence and expanding the understanding of cause-and-effect relationships in both English and Tajik.
