Abstract

The article examines the features of the use of rhyme and redif in the works of an outstanding representative of Tajik poetry of the 10th-11th centuries (the end of the Samanid era and the beginning of the reign of the Ghaznavid dynasty) Kisai Marvazi. It is noted that there is a lack of special studies devoted to the problem under consideration. It is noted that in Kisai’s works, eight of the 25 types of rhymes indicated by the famous literary scholar Bakhrom Sirus are found, including kofiyai muqayat (limited rhyme) with its varieties, kofiyai mutlaq (unlimited or combined rhyme) with its existing varieties, kofiyai jali (clear rhyme). Furthermore, the poet frequently uses internal rhyme, which the renowned Iranian literary scholar Muhammadrizo Kadkani calls kofiyai muakkad (strict rhyme), which imparts a special musicality and rhythm to the verse. It is emphasized that in seven instances of Kisai's poems, simple verb refrains are used.
