Avtors

Sharipov V.A.

Abstract

The article provides an overview of the life and translation work of Mikhail Lozinsky. At the same time, the author pays close attention to the issue of the leading principles of the theoretical concept of translation of M. Lozinsky, his practical translations from European languages, which received a positive, sometimes enthusiastic assessment from the overwhelming majority of translators, researchers and ordinary readers. A special assessment is given to the exceptional translation of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. A large number of quotes from the memoirs of friends, relatives and loved ones of the translator are given, aimed at assessing the quality of his translations. Some contradictory characteristics of M. Lozinsky's translation activity are also noted by literary criticism and translation criticism. Particular attention is paid to the history of the publication of the Persian-Tajik literaturepoem "Book of Kings "Shah-name" edited by F. A. Rosenberg with M. Lozinsky's Russian translations of 20 selected passages from A. Firdawsi's poem. At the same time, considerable attention is paid to the issue of the specificity of the language of his translations.
