The article dwells on the identification and comparison of information from the tazkira of the late 19th – early 20th centuries about the life and work of Ahmad Donish. The author, considering the materials of ten tazkiras of this period, including “Tuhfat-ul-ahbob fi tazkirat-il-askhob” by Rahmatulloh Vozekh, tazkire of Mirsiddikhon Hashmat, “Tazkori ashor” by Sharifjon-makhdum Sadr Ziyo, “Tazkirat-ush-shuaro” by Abdulazim Shar’i, “Afzal-ut-tazkor fi zikr-i-sh-shuaro wa-l-ashjor” by Afzal-makhduma Pirmasti, “Tazkirai Fahmi” – and Abdulmuttalibhoji Fahmi, “Tazkirat-ush-shuaroi mutaakhkhirin” by Abdullokhhoji Abdi, “Tazkirat-ush-shuaro” by Mukhtaram, “Tazkirat-ul-khattotin”-i Idriskhoji Roji and "Namunai adabiyoti tojik" by Sadriddin Aini, comes to the conclusion that nine of them provide information about Ahmad Donish. This information varies both in content and volume. A comparison of the sources showed that Shar'i's Tazkirat-ush-shuaro, Mukhtaram's Tazkirat-ush-shuaro, and Sadr Zia's Tazkori Ash'or contain more information. The accounts in Abdi's tazkira are very brief. There is no information in Fahmi's anthology due to its incompleteness. One of the most important sources providing information about Ahmad Donish, both in terms of assessing his creativity and talent, and awakening his self-awareness, is Sadriddin Aini's work "Namunai adabiyoti tojik". The author of the article also commented on the contradictory information regarding the name of Ahmad Donish, the name of his father and the poems attributed to him.
