Peculiarities of the use of Greek, Hindi and Persian borrowed verbs in English are reviewed on the basis of material collected from English and Tajik dictionaries. The three aspects of the use of such borrowings in English are analyzed: 1) the period and reasons of the use of Greek, Hindi and Persian borrowings; 2) the ways of introduction of verbs of the three above languages into English; 3) their semantic range. It is emphasized that such borrowings were borrowed into English through one or several mediator languages with several lexical meanings in a certain period of English language. It is concluded that borrowed words in English are different by their linguistic affiliation, most of them belong to Latin and Greek, but some of them belong to Arabic, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Scandinavian, Persian-Tajik and other languages.
