The article dwells on degree of usage and grammatical peculiarities of the suffix -goh in Tajik literary language referring to the XVIII-th and the XX-th centuries. The author of the article underscores significant number of suffixes by dint of which are formed nouns denoting place and time, personal and impersonal, concrete and abstractones etc. It is noted that in the language of “Tuhfat-ul-khoni” by Muhammadvafoi Karminagi (XVIII c.) and in Aini`s literary productions (XX c.), as in modern Tajik literary language the suffixes –goh (–gah) ‚–sor‚ –sor ‚–iston (-ston)‚ –kand (-kant) and –kada are resorted to form nouns denoting the place and abundance of something. The suffix -goh is considered in terms of frequency of its usage and grammatical peculiarities. It is revealed that in the work referred as “Tuhfat-ul-khoni” by Muhammadvafoi Karminagi the suffix -goh is one of the productive ones in the formation of nouns denoting a place and is used in the relevant work tal of 316 times in to tal, while in S. Aini`s works it is used only 110 times. Proceeding from the statistical analysis, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that the mentioned lexical element is considered to be more productive in the Tajik literary language of the explored centuries.
