In this article makes a deep social-philosophical analysis of mentality, confirming that it is not only a means self-identification, i.e. relating itself to any nation or group, but it includes the knowledge about nation, its peculiarities, culture, language, territory and history either. It connects rational and emotional spheres of activity in the process of imbibition, consumption, reproduction of culture. For confirmation of her thesis the author adduces supporting quotations of some famous scientists as Z. Freud and E. Fromm who consider that mentality is a certain social-psychological condition of nation, nationality, citizens, people, group which includes durable and sustainable results of the influence of ethical, geographical, social-economic conditions over the subject of mentality.
