ACTIVITIES OF THE ORYOL INFANTRY SCHOOL IN STALINABAD DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Avtors

Gafurov A.M.

Abstract

The relevance of this article stems from the fact that the history of the evacuation of enterprises, organizations, institutions, and populations that were located in Tajikistan during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 has not yet been studied. Like many other educational institutions, the Oryol Infantry School was evacuated to Stalinabad (Dushanbe). During its years in Stalinabad, the school trained numerous cadets for the front—future mid-level officers of the Red Army. This book covers the process of personnel training, particularly the work of developing patriotic cadets. It also describes the activities of the school's Party and Komsomol organizations in working with cadets. It also highlights the school's shortcomings, including an insufficient supply of fruits and vegetables for cadets and the poor living conditions of commanders and cadets. The book draws primarily on archival material. This is the first time this school's activities have been covered.
