Abstract

This article examines the role and significance of the genre of interview in covering, analyzing, and evaluating global events. Political factors and the processes of globalization play an important role in many interviews published in the periodical press. The main advantage of interviews devoted to global events is their ability to accurately reflect existing problems and provide a deep analysis of the issues under discussion. Many materials in the genre of interview related to Tajikistan’s global initiatives have been issued in the periodical press. A significant number of them focus on issues of fresh water and environmental problems. In the interview titled «Tajikistan as an Initiator of Efficient Water Use at the Global Level» published in the newspaper «Jumhuriyat» the initiatives of Tajikistan at the international level and their importance for solving global problems are discussed in detail. The interview highlights Tajikistan’s international status, the reasons for the growing attention of the global community to water-related issues, the goals of organizing international conferences on water issues in the country, and the prospects for holding such events in the future. All the questions of the correspondent and the answers of the interviewee in this interview are based on official documents confirming Tajikistan’s active role and the country’s initiatives in the rational use of water resources at both regional and global levels. The interview also provides detailed information about the evolution of the republic’s foreign policy relations. As is well known, environmental issues, clean water problems, and collective security are important global topics for the periodical press, and this ideological tendency is clearly reflected in the interview genre.
