The article analyzes the role of social networks as one of the key factors in shaping public opinion in the Republic of Tajikistan. It is noted that, against the backdrop of the rapid development of the digital environment and growing internet access, social networks in the country (Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, TikTok, etc.) have become one of the most important tools for influencing the worldview, value system, and social behavior of citizens. The book examines key contemporary communication theories, including agenda-setting theory, the spiral of silence, network society, algorithmic gatekeeping, the echo chamber effect, framing theory, the concept of digital use and satisfaction, cognitive dissonance, and participatory culture theory. Each of them offers its own explanation for the impact of digital media on public consciousness. Empirical data was collected and analyzed using statistical analysis and survey methods (online and offline).
