This article examines the characteristics and trends of agrarian reforms in Tajikistan in the period following the post-war restoration of agriculture. Based on reliable materials, it provides a brief overview of the historical background to the implementation of Soviet agricultural policy in the 1960s, when major transformations began in the republic's economic life.It is noted that the 1965 reform was aimed at reducing the intervention of the directive economy, expanding the independence of enterprises, giving them the opportunity to manage profits, and providing material incentives for producers depending on the results and quality of work. The features of the practical implementation of reforms and the impact of agrarian reforms on the lives of agricultural workers in Tajikistan are also considered. Scientific and theoretical conclusions have been made that in the 1960s and 1970s, over a relatively short historical period, thanks to structural changes based on the introduction of new management mechanisms, the standard of living of collective farmers increased significantly. One of the factors in the economic development of collective and state farms in Tajikistan in 1964–1966 was the expansion of socialist competition, as a result of which the total volume of agricultural production in the republic increased several times.
