Abstract

ThearticleexaminesthefeaturesandtrendsofthecottonmonoculturepolicyinTajikistanduringthepost-warrestorationofagriculture. A brief overview of the historical background of the cotton monoculture policy in Central Asia by the Russian Empire since the second half of the 19th century is given, as well as the implementation of a large-scale project of the Soviet government in Tajikistan to achieve cotton independence. The main context of the article is the scientific and theoretical thesis that, despite all the efforts of the Russian Empire, it failed to ensure its own cotton independence until the October Revolution. The First World War, a series of revolutions 1905-1907 and 1917. did not allow the tsarist government to implement one of its ambitious economic projects - the monoculturation of cotton growing in Central Asia. Only the Soviet government, through the development of tens of thousands of empty lands in Central Asia, in particular in Tajikistan, for cotton, managed to gain complete cotton independence. In 1946-1960, i.e. During a short historical period, the consistent implementation of the cotton monoculture policy in Tajikistan was greatly facilitated by: systematic training of experienced agricultural personnel, specialists in agrotechnical professions, technically competent machine operators, etc. It was in the post-war years that, thanks to the structural reform to consolidate small, inefficient farms, cotton-growing collective farms noticeably strengthened and the material standard of living of collective farmers increased significantly.
