THE MAIN DIRECTIONS OF PUBLIC POLICY OF SOVIET STATES IN 1970-1980

Abstract

The article reviews the main directions of implementation of social policy of Soviet state in 1970-1980. It is noted that in these years fundamentally new directions of the state’s social policy were implemented. Over a relatively short historical period, significant work has been done to establish new elements of social system. On a fundamentally new basis, a policy of social protection of various categories of vulnerable population was developed. The gained experience and practice require scientific understanding, evaluation, and development of recommendations for further improvement of social policy of the state and other institutions of society. The relevance of the issues under consideration is due to the presence of a whole range of unresolved issues in the field of social support for the population. For the first time, based on the analysis of the forms and methods of social support of population, the study tries to explore the issues of implementing state social policy that are characteristic of modern history.
