Some Aspects Beset with the Development of Modern Clothes of Tajiks (traditions and innovations)

Abstract

In her article the author discloses the degree of the traditional costume of Tajiks having been studied in the fundamental works of historians and ethnographers and the essential influence of the data explored upon a formation of new types of modern traditional clothes. It is indicated that important information concerned with the historic costume of Tajiks is collected as a result of the study of archeological findings, mural painting of the monuments of architecture, materials of literary sources. The subtlest details of various kinds and types of clothes, their cuts and innovations in concrete patterns are depicted in the plots of miniature paintings. Great value for studying the traditional costume of Tajiks is presented with genuine subjects of old clothes being kept in fund-repositories of Russian, Uzbek and Tajik museums. It is shown that the traditional costume of Tajiks has preserved principal distinguished features at the new stage of development in sovereign Tajikistan. Today particular attention is paid to a revival of the national costume as an integral part of people`s culture which inherited all the wealth of the century passed.
