Artistic Value of Maveranakhr Chronicles (referring to the XIX-th – the beginning of the XX-th centuries)

Abstract

The article dwells on the analysis of artistic-aesthetic and historical value of chronicles, in particular, «Muntakhab-ul-tavokhir» (Selected Stories) by Khoji Muhammad Hakim-khan (1843) and «Zafar-name Khusravi» (The Book of Tsarist Victories) created in the XIX-th – the XX-th centuries in literary circles of Maverannakhr which became a big cultural center in the relevant period. Special attention is paid to the multi-aspectal research dealing with the role and place of chronicles in the terms of studies and scientific comprehension of literature referring to this period and determination of literary tendencies of the explored period as well. Designing on the premises of the generalization concerned with scientific-research works on the given theme belonging to both home and foreign scholars the author comes to the conclusion that the analysis of artistic value of chronicles refers to the number of actual issues making up a prospective field for a rise of subsequent scientific works, as the analysis of the chronicles of the mentioned period affords to understand the dynamics of development of the literature written in Persian in the period of the XIX-th – XX-th centuries.
