John Locke on Encouragement and Punishment

Avtors

Khojanazarov Abdurashid Kushnazarovich

Abstract

Having analyzed John Locke`s system of educability the author of the article elicited that  it is the development of a brought up individual`s consciousness that averages the  grounds of education. Therefore, the methods of encouragement and punishment are auxiliary ones in the development of consciousness affecting the  behavior of a nurseling.

The author determines the role and place of both encouragement and punishment in the  system of education upon the whole; cause-effect relations afford to establish analytical dependance between the applied methods in question  and a final result of the educational process.

The author also gives and substantiates  the  definition of the  notion “readiness of future  teachers for the usage of the methods of  encouragement and punishment”. It  is looked upon as an integrative quality of future teachers; the essence being control and assessment  of nurseling`s behavior, the way the educated observes both his rights  and duties.
