Abstract

The article analyzes the poetic meters of Kalimi Koshan's gazelles. It is established that when composing gazelles, Kalimi Koshan primarily used common aruz meters, including khazaj, rajaz, ramal, mutaqorib, mujtas, muzore, etc. Based on the frequency of poetic meters used in Kalimi's gazelles, three groups of meters are distinguished: frequently used, moderately used, and rarely used meters. It has been established that the most frequently used metre is the ramal metre, which is used in a total of 144 gazelles. Less frequently used metres are the sari' and muqtazab, which are used in one gazelle each. The overall frequency of metre usage in Kalim Koshani's gazelles is reflected in a special table using statistical research methods, which shows the overall pattern of metre usage in the gazelles from the poet's divan. According to this table, the poet's divan contains 562 gazelles and Kalim Koshani, when composing them, mainly used 9 bakhrs and 24 meters, which are most common in classical Tajik literature.
