The article dwells on the role of Tajik words in the formation of new words, and the author analyzes the features of word-formation suffixes on the materials of two languages with a common origin. The analysis showed that the Tajik language has a large number of English loanwords which are structurally different from the original language: simple, compound, complex ones, but after being included into the lexical structure of the Tajik language they are accepted as simple words. Analysis and comparison of the collected materials show that English borrowings in the vocabulary of the Tajik language are combined with some derivational inflexions and independent Tajik words creating a number of complex and mixed words.
