SOME PARAGONS OF LITERATY CRITICISM IN “TUHFAI SOMI” BY SOMMIRZO SAFAVI

Abstract

Proceeding from genuine articles and original viewpoints, the author of the articles dwells on Sommirzo’s literary criticism of prosaic and poetical works belonging to the men-of-letters of the XVI-th century; the latters being of diverse standards of talent and calibre. The anthology complied by Sommirzo Safavi is really known having been registered in literary chronicles, it possesses both historical and literary value as it provides useful information about many poets who lived at the end of the 15-th century and at the beginning of the XVI-th. In his article the author, into the bargain, analyzes critical works written by Sommirzo from the viewpoint of literary criticism and converges critical terminology into one thematic group. It is quite clear that he intended to elicit the factors of influence and requirements of time in the style of the criticism inherent in the anthology. Thus, his openness, venture and statal reputation were recognized due to straightforward criticism and condemnation. Resorting to concrete examples, the author managed to show that in some cases corrections of non-commensurate verses of the poet conducted by Sommirzo were constant and timely.
