In the period of 1990-2005 we observed such a principally new phenomenon for the country as formation, approbation and development of the system of social support assigned for youth. For a comparably small historic span of time a considerable work targeted at a formation of new elements of social system was implemented. On a principally new basis a policy of social protection of unemployed citizens was elaborated; the growing generation being included into this category as well. The accumulated experience and practice require scientific comprehension, assessment, resultative recommendations on further improvement of state social policy and other institutes of society. The actualness of the problem considered is preconditioned with a whole complex of unsolved questions in so far as youth employment is concerned; therefore, necessity in a creation of an effective mechanism of social support of the growing generation springs up. We canvass characteristic features of youth employment in Dagestan Republic during the period of 1995 – 2005. For the first time an endeavor is made to explore the issues of youth employment regulation characteristic for the newest history of the region designing on the premises of the analysis of statistical data.
