In the article the analysis of social-political views belonging to the founder of Arabian-Islamic social philosophy Abu Nasr Farabi (IX-X cc.) is expounded. The author of the article makes an endeavor to research the essence and content of principal conceptions of Farabi’s social-moral tenet, in particular, such categories as “happiness”, “virtue”, “free will of active reason”, “ideal society” (“Madinat al-Fazila”), “ignorant society” (“Madinat ul-Djahim”). It is underscored that Farabi describes the essence of spiritual existence of man in “The Virtuous City”, he determines the ways of achievement of happiness composing the basis of human life and warns about impediments arising on the latters.
