In the latest three decades of the XX-th century social-political changes associated with the Islamic revolution in Iran exerted profound influence over all the sides of the country`s life, literature and art inclusive, the fact that preconditioned the rise of revolutionary literature being in charge of ideological-moral demands and values of revolution in its turn. Separate themes, styles and versified forms referring to the past epoch ceased to function and received the new impulse in regard to forgotten genres and themes.The mentioned alterations brought certain transformations not only into the development and evolution of the modern Persian verse, but also determined the perspective of its further development. In his article the author analyzes the role of gazel in poetical genres evolution in the Persian literature. It is underscored that after the Iranian-Iraqi War gazel bore alterations in both content-thematic plane and in considerations from the viewpoint of language and style.
