On the Issue of Land Property Forms in Bukhara Khanate in the second Half of the ХVIII-th Century

Abstract

The article dwells on the state of land use in Bukhara Khanate at the end of the XVIII-th century in historical aspect. Proceeding from the sources of diverse slants, the author analyzes both the forms and categories of land property. He gives assessment to historically determined social forms of land appropriation (by individual, collective and state) as a part of nature, as land property is considered to be such. The author generalizes three directions of the formation of private ownership for land, which was carried out by reclamation of communal and non-cultivated lands; public lands sale to private persons and through donation of land to officials and influential feudals. The author stresses especially the fact that land property and forms of its utilization during the whole historic period of Bukhara Khanate existence were regulated due to taxes and diverse forms of tribute. Hereby‚ the major part of land resources belonged to state and clergy.
