On the Issue of Terminology in Regard to Modern Journalism

Avtors

Saidmurodi Khodjazod

Abstract

The article dwells on the most  burning problems of modern journalism, that of correct usage of modern terminology. The author made an attempt to research the functioning  of some frequently used terms in national broadcasting. Precision, monosemantics, systematics, stylistic neutrality, absence of synonyms and homonyms – these are characteristic features of a term. There exists a mutual exchange between terminology and  literary language. The process of terminologization considerably  moved aside the boundaries of the Tajik literary language. Hereby, there springs up a new word demanding  for being interpreted.  Broadcasting terms are  distinguished with variety by their thematics. Improper usage of terms is not infrequently observed in the modern  vocabulary of national MM. Sometimes the ethical requirements to the language of modern press are violated. The author keeps to the opinion  that without knowing a terminology of a certain respective  branch it is impossible to become a really professional expert in any realm.
